Mr. Hardy, 81, of Toledo, OH, passed away, Thursday, May 18, 2017 in his home with Lord and Savior as his witness. He was born June 14, 1935 in Yazoo City, MS to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Annie Manning-Hardy. Both preceded him in death as did brothers, John "15-4", Charles and George Hardy and son-in-law, Patrick Nelson
He worked as a longshoreman for the Toledo Overseas Terminal, prior to retirement. Mr. Hardy confessed his hope in Christ at a very early age and lastly attended the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Toledo.
He was a world known pioneer in the Citizen Band Radio Communication.
Mr. Leroy J. Hardy, Sr. was the widower of Florence and is survived by sons, Leroy, Jr "Sonny". and Gary Hardy, Calvin and Ricky Mack and Delroy Smith; daughters, Deborah Nelson, Joyce Hightower and Rose Hardy; numerous grand and great grandchildren and sister, Annie R. Thomas; sister-in-law. Ida M. Hardy; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
